Actress Shilpa Shetty’s younger sister Shamita Shetty enjoys a huge social media fan base, despite failing to make her name in the Hindi entertainment industry like the former. The reality show star often takes to her official handles to share glimpses of her personal life and professional endeavours. On Tuesday, she shared a video on her official Instagram handle to inform the netizens that she has been suffering from endometriosis. She revealed that she has undergone treatment for the same.

Dressed in a hospital gown, Shamita sits on a hospital bed as she talks to her elder sister Shilpa Shetty. She shares an update on her health and urges her female fans to go through regular checkups. The 45-year-old actress went on to advice her female fans to always listen to their body when it is in pain. For those who don’t know, endometriosis is a disease where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. Quoted by the Hindustan Times, the actress said in the video, “All the women out there, please google endometriosis. You need to know what the problem is all about. The Mohabbatein actress shared the video with the caption, “Did you know that almost 40 % of women suffer from Endometriosis.. and most of us are unaware of this disease!!! I want to thank both my doctors , my gynac dr Neeta Warty and my Gp dr Sunita Banerjee for not stopping til they found out the root cause of my pain! As soon as her post went live on Instagram, Shetty’s industry friends and netizens quickly took to the comment section of the video to shower her with get well soon messages. Dia Mirza wrote, “Love and healing Shamita.” Krushna Abhishek wrote, “Get well soon.” Bipasha Basu said, “Take care. Heal fast.” Another commented, “Hey, wish you a much speedy recovery. I’ve been suffering from this disease for last 7 years, n what I’ve learnt that there is no permanent treatment for this.”
