The 50 best breakfast and brunch in New York City (2024)

The YOTEL New York Times Square is a hip, stylish hotel that is unconventional in its design and features cutting edge technology. The rooms offer a unique space-age minimalism combined with futuristic technology and a quirky hotel decor unlike anything else you have ever seen. It is perfect for families who want to stay in the heart of all the action without spending too much money.

I found a last minute deal for this hotel. Excellent rate and super close to everything. It’s conveniently located, the workers are friendly and helpful. Easy check in and check out. The rooms were cozy, the bed was comfy, bathroom was clean and had a great shower head with strong water pressure. It also has an amazing view, I was on the 21st floor. Overall, fantastic experience, I highly recommend and I will definitely be back again.

Location is what makes this hotel even remotely recommendable at beat. Julie at front desk was very nice which is the best I can say. This is a motel, not a hotel. Elevator from parking garage didn’t work, not even one luggage cart , no one to help with the luggage, no refrigerator in room which was shocking, and if you are concerned with security then this is not the place for you. This is not a 4 star hotel, 2 at best and worth nothing more. Room was fine since we weren’t in it long but having not refrigerator was not great and no ice machine.

Second time staying here, the hotel was a bit cleaner the first time around but location can't be beat. Had trouble checking in and out on the kiosk even though I used the official website to book. Clerk was very nice and helped us check in early at 9am. We got a west facing room with a view of the Hudson. Rooms have ventilation windows, cold AC, and a very comfortable, reclining bed. Bathroom doesn't offer much privacy but water pressure and heated towel rack were appreciated. TV channels and ambient lights were a plus. Slept very well here and central location made it easy to stop by between activities.

Great Location! You are 2-3 blocks from times square and major Broadway theatres. Lots of places to eat and have a drink. Plus the adjacent store is a liquor store. The area is busy but not excessively busy its a great hotel in general. The hotel breakfast is ~$20 a person, but its a hot breakfast with a decent selection. Well staffed too. Rooms are nice and look like the photos there is some noise from the hallway but its mostly quiet. The shower is great, but our room did have some small mold stains in the corner. Nothing to get in a fuss over, but it may affect others experience. It does cost $9 (Cash only) to have them hold your bags. I've never heard of this charge before but it may be a nyc thing.

The rooms are modern, the bed was comfortable. Water pressure was amazing- so rare in hotels. We were traveling with our niece, and the bunk bed above can look into the shower. The line for check in seemed to take forever, however, after reading some articles about hotel check in process, I can see why.The coffee is super good- loved it! The bar- not so much. Just a heads up, last call in the hotel does not mean last call to get a drink, it means no drinks are being served.🤷Summary- stay at the hotel. It's a great location, and overall the staff was friendly.

I made a last minute booking here on 9/1 and would definitely return again. self-check in and out was a breeze and the staff were very helpful when it came to making the key card.the rooms are smaller than average but I loved them. the bed was comfortable, bathroom was nice, and the room was thoroughly cleaned. you can tell the hotel isn't brand new but nothing is too drastic that will negatively impact your stay.the location isn't the best as it's kinda far from time square but the affordable price point definitely makes up for it.the only thing I would add is a grab and go market, they only had vending machines with limited amount of items.will definitely be staying here in the future.

Don't forget to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking any place. They compare hundreds of booking web sites and typically will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the best in the area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you won't be disappointed.Great hotel with really nice rooms and helpful staff, both whilst there and also in the run up to the holiday. Nice on-site restaurant and bar and it's a really good location at a great price. Really good view from our room too. Will definitely return next time I visit NY

Lobby staff were very friendly and helpful .... above and beyond. Room was spotless, cleaning staff very polite and respectful. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would go there again in a heartbeat.Only one tiny issue, staff at the rooftop terrace were slow, in every deli, bar, restaurant and cafe, the service was immediate which is usual for USA but don't let that put you off.Short walk to Times Square but felt more like being in the neighbourhood than Times Square which was perfect.....plenty of dell's, bars, pizza and shops on the doorstep.

I would have given this hotel five stars all the way around if it was not for the camera hanging on the wall in my room. Seeing that camera and the fact that they could see me naked was totally mortifying. I really don't know or understand why this hotel is allowed to have cameras installed in the rooms and plain sight with speakers on them. A few times I did cover them but it still didn't make me feel any comfort because no matter what I did they could still hear and monitor everything that was going on in the room that was supposed to happen private.

If you're looking for a unique, futuristic place to stay at, this is a good choice for a good price. The check-in area is done through tablets in the lobby. We had some issues because of how a third-party site arranged my partner's name, but the staff was very helpful. The main attraction in the lobby is the luggage robot, although we did not use the robot - just admired it from afar. Our room was cozy... even a bit small by NYC standards, but had a good layout. There was room under the bed for our suitcases. The shower and bathroom are basically in the room, which I thought was cool. If you're tall enough, you can watch TV from the shower! The only issue we ran into was figuring out how all of the futuristic things work, and the A/C was a bit tricky at first. Once we figured everything out, we really enjoyed our stay.Location is good - it's a few blocks west of the core of Times Square, so it's not as loud as other parts of the city that we've stayed in. We'd absolutely stay here again.

It started out a bit unsettling. We dropped off luggage at 11am $2 each piece (most other hotels don't charge), no problem though as I knew they did in advance. We were told to return at 2 pm that room might be available. So we return at 1:50pm and was told 2pm again so we waited. As we sat, a couple came to check in (at 1:58) they were told to go to front desk, so I followed. They were issued a room. When I said I was checking in, I was told to come back at 3 pm that they didn't have rooms ready. So I sat back down and watch the person in line after me not be turned down. I got up to watch them issue her a room and I interrupted to ask how the person in front of me and behind me in line got a room. I was told she could check for me now!! Why now?! What happened when I was in line. She never asked my name or got my ID, so she didn't know what kind of room I was in. It was the rudest thing I've experienced in hotel check in! There was another front desk woman next to her doing something on the laptop but not checking anyone in. She told me I would be helped next. For the trouble I was given an "upgrade", I'm guessing room with view on higher level. But same size room as I reserved. I refuse to let this ruin though. The following morning at 7 am there was a guest walking the floor talking on her cell phone, on speaker laughing, talking loudly.....who does that?...... leaves their room to walk up and down the hall to have a loud conversation for 40 minutes?!

Location was great and staff were very friendly. The rooms were a bit overpriced for what they had. The bathroom had dirty showers and the glass door was not working. The outlets were not working, only one light was working, tv didn’t have much channels, and we noticed some weird stains on the bedding which was obvious they didn’t wash them. The pull out couch had very WEIRD stains as well so I had to put blankets so my kids didn’t touch them. Other than that the view was excellent, being close to TS was very nice as well and close to restaurants.

The Hotel has an excellent location, making it easy to get to most of the tourist attractions visited. The room is small, but quite comfortable. The tilting bed is a very smart solution for being able to move around the room and watch TV comfortably. The bathroom with its glass walls is quite peculiar. I missed the curtains in the room, to increase privacy. The staff was very attentive and the restaurant is very practical. The outdoor tables make the place very beautiful. It was worth staying at YOTEL.

Before Covid I stay at this hotel and it was a happening place and it was very well maintained. Sure, the rooms are small, but laid out well. HOWEVER, thinking that the hotel would be the same as it was before, I was surprised to find that it was VERY run down. Scuffs on walls, rooms falling apart, and simple things that could be fixed were not. As you can see in this picture. I was VERY disappointed. This coupled with the fact that many floors smelled of strong marijuana - despite signs saying it is a non-smoking hotel. Staff was not particularly warm or helpful either.

Location is top-notch - right in the heart of the city action, which made exploring touristy spots super convenient. My room was small, and honestly, this is no surprise for most hotels located in Manhattan, but they make it work. Despite being small, they're clean, comfy, and surprisingly well-equipped.. The staff also went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed, from check-in to airport transportation. Overall, if you're looking for a no-fuss stay in a killer location with friendly service, this is it.

Trn Kernoz — Google review

You get what you pay for. Considering location in Manhattan, room size, and nightly rate (even with lose lovely fees), you're still getting a comparatively good deal. This means that you're staying in one of the cheaper hotels in NYC - so you deal with what comes along with staying int he cheaper hotel of any city and the undesirables that come along with it. That being said, the value of this spot is solid, and they really do make it feel more worth it than other mini-hotel deals. Most of the people staying here, saw other cheaper hotels and simply went with this without being sure of what they were getting in on.Staff are good at what they do, for the few times you'll interact with them (the check-in process is done via tablet kiosk). The terrace and restaurants are a nice touch if you're not feeling like going out but don't wanna stay in your room all cooped up. And on that note, the rooms, they are definitely smaller than what you're used to, but that goes for about every hotel room in NYC - they're all space efficient. Also, being such - no fridge or microwave. For me that's no big deal, but for some that could be a deal-breaker. Choose for yourself.Know your location. Research it up without other people's attached feelings and make the choice for yourself. I consider myself a pretty budget-minded traveler, and pretty much always find myself here as a go-to spot for shorter and longer stays.

The price of this hotel, at the time we stayed (October 2022- $750 in total for 2 nights) was NOT worth it.To start the check in experience is not great. You have to literally wait until 3pm on the dot to check in. 1 second earlier and it will charge you $60. For a hotel that is so “hip” you would think you could just check in if a room was ready.2. The wifi was not fast and didn’t really work well. It would work one minute and completely not work the next.3. This hotel at one time was probably really great, clean, new, and tidy. However in 2022 that is not what was experienced. Things were broken, ruined, ripped, and out of service. To name a few, the water and ice machine on our floor were out of service. The bag area where you can store bags was out of service and not working. The elevator was ringing loudly for an entire night with only one elevator working causing back ups with lines for the elevator. The bed frame was ripped and torn up and looked rather mangy. The bathroom was not truly clean it looked just wiped down —with stains from over the years. Also the bathroom shower leaks out the glass sliding door creating a puddle and soaked floor towel, which was super dangerous since the floor was super slippery.A few positives of the hotel:The monsoon shower. The water pressure and dumping of water felt amazing after being out all day exploring. The bed was really comfortable and had the ability to adjust the head placement. The location is a couple blocks from Times Square and was very walkable.Overall I would probably never stay here again. The price was not worth the amenities or experience. I’d look elsewhere to book.

This was a very cute hotel. Small in size but just enough room for two people. The best part of the hotel was the service. Moses who works at the hotel was so amazing in helping to get us a cab and storing our luggage. Not only was he helpful and caring but extremely friendly. We will be staying at this hotel again because of his great service and cleanliness of hotel.

Just 3 blocks west of Times Square puts this in a solid location. We booked 3rd party which gave us really good rates. This place had self check in which was cool. The rooms are definitely on the small side but our room came with one of those beds that can incline so you can sit up so that was a fun experience. Our shower door doesn't close all the way and keeps sliding open slowly which causes a bit of a mess in the bathroom. Other than that the room is not too shabby.

**Correction-Location is for Downtown Miami and it was a very clean, friendly place to stay with great amenities for travelers in a group or solo tourists as I was during my visit. The location was exemplary as there were delicious places to eat, a shopping mall, grooming and several other things to do and see; including a beach that were all in a 5 minute walking distance. I like the aesthetic and the adjustable bed and controlled lighting were bonus features for me. Would highly recommend!

I got a queen room, it was such a cool experience we had a door that let straight to the rooftop. Yotel was in a good location, nice rooftop restaurant, had a nice little pantry for breakfast in the morning. I felt super safe, there was a security door to actually enter the rooms and the gym was nice. Room was small but it was a nice layout if i go back to NYC, i will definitely be staying at this place again.

The room in general was very clean and the cleaning staff was very nice and helpful. The bed is comfortable. The location of the hotel is good, close to metro and Time Square. The view was nice from our room.I never saw any ice bag at any ice station I went, the water station of our floor had a problem so I had to do 1 or 2 floors every time to find water. There is no free accessible drinking hot water which is disappointing for me.The only option is at the restaurant level there is a coffee machine with 1$ hot water. The bathroom is open on the bedroom with not much privacy.

Kieran Gourdel — Google review

It was fine. The room was advertised as cutting edge and it was, if it was the 90s. The bathroom was clear, the beds were fine but outside of that there's nothing special about this palace. Automated check in didn't work, defeating the purpose. And the parking garage is a nightmare(we waited 20 minutes for our car and then another 15 to actually get out).

Ben McClung — Google review

The location was excellent so easy to get everywhere we wanted to go. The room was small but clean and perfectly adequate. The hair drier supplies was a good one and the shower was lovely and powerful. The bed was so comfortable we slept really well. The temperature of the room was nice and easy to change if needed. The view was good from the 16th floor and it wasn’t noisy at all. The only downside, and it’s very small, was the glass partition between the bathroom and bedroom doesn’t give much privacy so best to share with someone you’re close to and comfortable with. What made it for us were the friendly and helpful cabin crew always on hand with advice and help with transport if needed (we didn’t but others did) or to leave you luggage with or just have a chat about your stay if you stopped in the lobby. Would definitely recommend or return if I ever get the chance.

Went last minute New Year's Eve and they had the cutest little cabins very modern but not much space. Even though the room wasn't big it still felt cozy and the bed was nice and soft. The staff was friendly and inviting and we were right in the middle of everything! Would definitely book there again, was on the 26 floor great view👍🏾

If you know what you’re getting, this place is value for the money. I found check-in simple, I only have a roller bag so luggage isn’t a problem for me, and I use public transportation so no car to park. The room is very small, but it’s NYC so I expected that. I only sleep and shower there anyway. Bed was comfortable, TV worked. Signs of wear in places, like the shower ceiling is peeling paint from the moisture. My little window had a great view. One day I tried to shower late like 9:30am and there was no hot water so I advise showering the night before or get up earlier. There was a guy on my floor who was like the housekeeper or something, who was always nice and asked me if my room needed cleaning, or if I was checking out. He was observant, attentive, and helpful.Summary: For this price and this location there is good value here. If you’re snooty then stay at the Waldorf.

Bryan Menell — Google review

The hotel was fine for a single person stay, but the rooms were tiny. My room had several issues with the A/C unit and I ended up just having to keep the window open most of the time. There was black mold and yellow something above the shower and toilet areas that is pictured. The location was ok but a good walk from the subway. Fine for a solo trip, but this property needs some improvements for sure

UPDATE: We went down to reception the next day and they called housekeeping to get us a hairdryer. They were quick and it was as if they had hairdryers all along. We bumped into housekeeping on the way back up and grabbed one. However, the staff came up again a few minutes later just to hand us a brand new hairdryer instead. Was polite and attentive.OLD REVIEW: The view is good however the facilities we had in the room was not good. Apparently, there was no hairdryer in the room (despite being stated as part of the room facilities on their website) and when we requested. It took 1.5hours and multiple calls before the reception found out that the hotel does not provide hairdryers. They were pretty dismissive about the issue, not answering my question directly and only replied with “sorry about that” when I asked “Does that mean that the entire hotel does not have a single hairdryer?” even though they were polite. In addition, the shower head holder is gone. Shower curtain could be longer to prevent flooding in “dry area” of the bathroom.Room does not look as new as in the photos. It’s well-used however it is still clean.

The location of the hotel was great! The room with Queen bed is a good size room. Shower was dirty, towel had pink stain, not a good seal on the room door all the light and noise was coming in. You can hear everything from the street from the 16th floor. If you use the self check in kiosk right when you come in, the staff will not tell you where to go or how to use the elevators to go up to the fourth floor, then walk around the corner for another elevator for the rest of the floors. They say hello and then stand and stare at you, they don’t point you to the desk hidden around the corner after the kiosk to self check in. No mini fridge, housekeeping walking by said you have to request it. No water in the room. If you go to check in early you will need to pay to get your room or pay to store your bags $3 per bag. There were spots of mold in the room and furniture torn up like the side of the bed, the walls marked and stained in some places, the shower door was stuck and difficult to roll close. The water pressure was horrible. The temperature was even worse. You either have boiling hot or ice cold, it was hard to get a temp in between.

Harmonie J — Google review

Great value for the money. The rooms are small but very clean and modern. We had a small window with an amazing view. Housekeeping cleans thoroughly every day. Great location. The only issue we had was that the bathroom is kind of right in the room with glass doors, so there's no privacy. For 2 out of the 4 days, we barely had hot water. It sounds a bit challenging, but I'm still happy with the hotel choice

Julia Brown — Google review

Yotel is conveniently located near Times Square. It was easy to check in with friendly staff. The hotel could use a bit of updating and there are no typical amenities, such as a microwave and coffee machine, or a mini fridge in the rooms. The room was very small but the bed was comfortable and adjustable, which was nice. The shower and toilet are in the room and not separated for privacy with a door. Which I didn't mind because it was just me but be aware of that. The towel warmer was inoperable and catching the shower water hot was tricky to time. The outlet at the desk was coming out of the wall and I had a difficult time keeping my laptop charged. The room was clean but was definitely a bit warn out. You could see the hotel was really nice in it's day but is lacking some upkeep. I've seen comments on the fees but I paid for my room in full upfront, so I knew what I was paying for and there were no additional fees. If you are in NY for a business trip or short stay, it suits your needs This would not be ideal for someone on vacation.

You have to pay very careful for attention. Especially when getting a room on Priceline. I told them I had four people they booked me a room but it was a two person room so I had to upgrade and pay almost double of what I paid. The staff were very nice, Especially Dan with security. I have no complaints about the staff at all. They were great.I do have a complaint about the bathrooms. There was black mold in our shower and I didn’t realize it until my daughter brought it up the last day in our room. I realize that I had Irritated red eyes when I was in the room and a scratchy throat. It has me worried.

Kathy Greenlee — Google review

Let's overlook the resort fee unexpectedly charged to my bill upon arrival at the hotel, which was cunningly concealed in the booking, leading me to believe I would pay a specific amount that turned out not to be the case. The hotel itself is absolutely impeccable, the rooms are brand new and meticulously maintained. Room service is excellent; although the concierge could be a bit more cheerful and polite, if I must offer a minor critique. Additionally, I would note it's somewhat greedy to charge customers for luggage storage for a couple of hours after check-out, especially when cash is demanded (in 2024???!) forcing guests to seek out an ATM solely for this purpose. The policy should be revised to allow credit card payments for luggage deposit or make it complimentary, as is the case in any other hotel.
